So goddamn beautiful.
If anyone plagues my dreams, it’s been this girl right here.
I leaned my head against the headboard trying to control myself and not come all over her face right then. Between my memories and being with her again, knowing I’m getting off with her tonight, it’s all I can do to keep from blowing my load too soon. Moving down her body, I reached for the condom.
After I got the condom out of the drawer, I hovered over her looking down at her lust stricken gaze, doing everything I could to keep from just driving into her and fucking her like I wanted. “I have to fuck you, please.”
She nodded, her lips on me pulling me closer so our chests were touching, two hearts thumping wildly. I could tell then it’d been just as long for her since she last had someone with her like this. I loved that thought.
The moment I sunk into her, my hands fisted in the pillow beneath her head and then moved to wrap around her shoulders pulling her into my every thrust. She cried out in pleasure, me giving her exactly what she needed too.
Our skin slapped together echoing through my condo, our pace matching one another with my low uneven grunts and her soft moans.
“Oh God, Leo,” Her body arched into mine, her arms locking around my body, “fuck, just like that.”
“You like that?” I grunted sucking her bottom lip into my mouth with my teeth. Seeing her so turned on by this wasn’t easy. One, because it was hard not to come, and two, the way she was falling apart with me inside of her was fucking breathtaking.
Raising up on my hands, it wasn’t easy but I had to watch this and wanting her to see what she did to me, what she left me with, what she made me feel. A man begging for her touch.
As I rocked in and out of her, my hand moved between us. Her pussy was soaking wet, an intoxicating scent that my body craved.
“That’s right, fuck me…” she breathed.
I groaned in response, unable to speak. The vulgarity behind her words turned me on even more as I fucked her harder, giving her what she needed from me. Her eyes squeezed shut, her body shaking beneath mine, sweat covered and sticking to me. My orgasm was threatening to erupt, the familiar vibrations starting to build but I held back until she came.
Which wasn’t long. I’m good with my hands. With my forefinger and thumb circling her clit, I knew about the time she came undone. It was when her teeth sunk into my forearm beside her head and her body curved into mine again, her legs wrapping tightly around me with her heels pushing against my ass to make me fuck her hard.
I couldn’t stop it now. No fucking way. I was done.
“Fuck…” I cried out as my body stiffened above her. Gripping the sheets with white knuckles, my dick pulsed inside of her. The most intense, incredible orgasm I’d felt in a long fucking time shook through my entire body in waves, never seeming to end until I was light headed. My head spun as I struggled to catch my breath. Callie sighed, smiling up at me.
Collapsing against her chest, her hands moved over my back slowly, almost comforting. I could feel her heart pounding against my chest. Turning my head, her legs fell away from being wrapped around me as I kissed her neck feeling her pulse pound. “Fuckin’ Christ, Callie.” I panted. “You’re gonna kill me.”
Without looking, I tossed the condom in the trash can next to my bed and then moved to wrap my arms around her, refusing to let her move.
Callie laughed and moved to straddle me, her palms resting on my chest. My hands went to her hip wondering where this was going. “What do you say we try for a hat trick?”
“Read my fucking mind.” I said, reaching for another condom.
I must have fallen asleep immediately after that third time but I knew she stayed there wrapped around me. I felt her warmth beside me.
I had absolutely no idea how to make a relationship work. Never had one before. Ever. I had no idea how to even go about it. What I did know was that I wanted something from her though.
In the morning when the light of the day bathed my bedroom in a soft white glow, I looked over, my chest pounded as I expected to see her there and what I would say to her.
Only I was met with empty sheets.
She was gone again.

“What are you doing?”
I didn’t even look up. Didn’t want to. “Nothing.”
“You’re staring at your damn phone.” Remy groaned. “Again.”
“No. I’m not.”
Well, I was. And then my phone ripped from my hands was now being used as a hockey puck between Remy and Shelby in our hotel room. Jerks.
Ignoring them, and hoping those motherfuckers didn’t break it, I pretended to watch highlights from the Rangers game last night. Trying to act like I didn’t care they had my phone.
I’d like to think I was convincing.
Why was I staring at my phone?
Because Callie wouldn’t answer me. Fifteen fucking text messages and nothing. Only now I felt like some chick because I was obsessively texting her. I was going to emotionally break down because I’d finally sprouted a vagina.
When I woke up New Year’s Day she was gone. I knew she usually spent New Year’s with her roommate doing God knows what but why not at least answer me?
I understood leaving in the middle of the night. That walk of shame we’ve all had to make at one time or another. Hey, I get it and also the wanting to avoid the conversation the next day. But not with Callie. It was never like that with us.
I would have gone to her apartment but we left for Florida that afternoon and wouldn’t be back until Tuesday.
“Shit.” Remy groaned handing me my phone. Broken screen again. “Sorry, man.”
I threw it down on the mattress. “You motherfuckers! That’s my third one in four months.”
Pushing myself back on the bed staring at my shattered lifeline to Callie, I laid down and stared at the ceiling.
Remy stood beside the bed hovering over me. Putting my hand over my face, I protected it in case he decided to spit on me. He’s done it before. Instead he smacked my leg with his open hand. “Let’s go down to the bar.”
He didn’t have to ask me twice. I jumped up and reached for my wallet on the nightstand. When we walked outside, Remy threw his massive shoulder into Mase and Ryan’s door. “Bar, dudes!”
We leaned against the wall waiting for them to answer. Ryan did, opening the door smiling. He looked ridiculous with a half shaved head. “Meet you down there. Mase is in the shower.”
Why Mase being in the shower was funny to him didn’t make a lot of sense to us but nothing Ryan did made sense to me. He’s a twenty-year-old kid from Orono, Ontario, with a wicked slap shot but he’s fuckin’ dumb. Makes stupid mistakes off the ice. He’s the brunt of most of my jokes because of that. He also has three restraining orders against women. He apparently never got that memo that said you never take them back to your place.
Remy and I found a table, Ryan came up smiling with blood on his shirt. I didn’t really care as to why he had blood on his shirt. At all.
“Where’s Mase?” I asked, curious what that fucker could be doing that he couldn’t join his boys tonight. More than likely he was talking to Ami and then that made me a little jealous. Probably because I couldn’t talk to Callie. There goes my vagina talking again. “And why the fuck are you so happy?”
I used to be that guy, happy, laughing and generally upbeat about everything. Now look at me.
“I got Mase back.” Ryan could barely contain the laughter falling from his lips. “It was awesome.”
“And you think he’s going to let you get away with it?” I raised an eyebrow when he stared at me blankly. “You got a lot to learn, Shawzer.”
When you pull one over on someone you better be ready to get back what you dished out and answer that bell when it rang. Ryan didn’t understand that part. Which was probably why he was the brunt of retaliatio
n so often.
“I don’t know why I talk to you.” He grumbled turning away from me.
Because you’re a goddamn idiot. That’s why.
“I know.” I said watching Remy walk toward us carrying two pitchers of beer I had a feeling might not reach the table given the girls giving him the come fuck us eyes. “I’m a fuckin’ asshole. You’d think you would know that.”
“Yeah, you are.” Travis, another one of our teammates said was he came up to the table.
I’m usually the guy to perk everyone up but right now I was moody, like PMS moody. Remy stopped at that table near the entrance, three girls giving him the stares he couldn’t ignore.
Remy’s grin gets him pussy. He knows it’s his advantage. “Hey, honey.” He said, giving them that grin.
That’s all it usually took for them to spread their legs for him.
Sometime after Remy left with the blonde, and Ryan was in the bathroom, I was beginning to wonder where the hell Mase was when he walked into the hotel bar with blood dripping from his lip, chunks of hair missing and a cut on his eye. Hockey players are rough. Sometimes we carry that passion on the ice to our hotel rooms and shit gets physical when someone fucks with you. By Ryan’s grin earlier, and the blood on his shirt when he came down, I was guessing this was the reason. He and Mase got into it.
“That fuckin’ asshole.” Mase said, sitting beside me and waving to the bartender for a beer.
“Who, Ryan?”
“He…” Mase stopped and realized who he was talking to as Travis and I listened to him.
Mase understood that whatever he said next could be the brunt of some harsh comments and used against him for months. Shifting in his chair uncomfortably, he reached inside his jeans and scratched his balls. “Is that Shawzer’s beer?” He asked, giving a half smile.
“Yeah, he’s in the bathroom.”
Mase stuck his hand—the one he’d just had down his pants—in the beer. “Motherfucker.”
Ryan came back to the table, smiled at Mase, and then drank his beer.
See what I mean?
He’s fucking stupid sometimes. Never ever leave your beer unattended around us. Unless you’re Ryan.
And then it dawned on me what Ryan did to Mase. “You put Nair in his body wash, didn’t you?”
I don’t know if you know what Nair is… but it’s been a joke among us for a while. A little bit of that hair removal added to body wash and it can strip your chest or hair in just a few minutes. Or even the hair around your balls. Yep, that too.
He couldn’t even say it he was laughing so hard. Mase stood like he was going to knock him out.
“Come on, bud.” After finishing my beer, I clapped my hand over Mase’s shoulder separating the two of them. “Let’s go get some food.”
Pranks with us were never easy. You were either the brunt of them, or dishing them out. And you’re never one or the other for long before the tables have turned on you. After a while though, we had to get creative with the pranks. Sometimes we reused the same one that never got old but the creative ones, the kind you’d never think of doing, turned out to be the classic ones that players talked about for years to come.
“I’m not sleeping in the same room with him.” Mase said again, like a broken fuckin’ record. He was beyond pissed about the shower incident. I had to remind him he shaved half of Ryan’s head. He had to know he was going to get one back.
“You trust me?” I looked over at Mase as we walked back to the hotel.
“No. But you never kick me when I’m down.” And then Mase was reminded, again, when he ran his hand over his head that had chunks of hair missing. “Fuck, I’m going to fuck that kid up.”
“Your hair looks great.”
Mase raised his eyebrow at me. “Fuck you.”
“Be nice to me.” I slumped forward, my stare on my feet slugging through the puddles around me. From the time we arrived in Florida, it hadn’t stopped raining. Strangest thing because every time I’ve been to Florida it’s been sunny.
I think he knew what my problem was but he asked anyway. “Why?”
“I’m moody. I feel like I suddenly have a vagina.” My voice was drawn out and exaggerated, two things I’m very good at when needing to be. “Don’t make it worse.”
“Whatever.” But then he looked at me and knew I was being serious. “Callie?”
“Yeah.” I kept my voice down, like I was admitting something I wasn’t proud of. “Fucked her when we left your place and now she won’t talk to me.” I shrugged feeling the defeat again. “I don’t know. Maybe she regrets it. She said all this shit about Dave and maybe it was too soon.”
“Ya think so?”
“He really did a number on her emotionally.” Mase shrugged, seeming to understand, and then I wondered, because I hadn’t asked in a while, “How’s Ami doing with it?”
He didn’t answer right away, but when he did there was a pain to his tone I recognized. It wasn’t just Ami that was still scarred by that day. He was too. “Therapy helps but I think her dancing is what helps the most.”
“Does it ever bother you?”
“Oh yeah,” He nodded burying his hands in the pockets of his jeans. “I still struggle with it a lot. She fell dancing the other day and had this massive bruise on her arm. Took me days to touch her after that because it reminded me of that night.”
We were both quiet, drinking our beers and making comments about plays being replayed from last night’s games, when Mase looked over at me. “So you think she’s not calling because she regrets it?”
“Maybe. I don’t know.” I watched him walking, wondering when he was going to scratch his balls again because he was doing it like every ten feet. “So what, you washed your balls with the soap and it took the hair off?”
Mase raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, and my chest hair too. I look ridiculous.”
“You have to admit, that was a good one.”
“No, it wasn’t.” He was just in denial. If it had happened to anyone else, he would be laughing too.
Our conversation drifted as the rain pelted against us.
“Hey, hold up.” Mase grabbed my arm watching a man curled up next to the building. “Hey bud,” Mase stopped alongside the building. “You wanna get outta the rain?” He asked the older man who was wearing a trench coat nodding towards the hotel entrance.
I wasn’t exactly okay with this. I don’t walk down alleyways and I certainly don’t approach the homeless. In my experience, everyone has been bitter to me. How could that be right?
Well, one peed on my foot because I couldn’t give him fifty bucks for whiskey. Asshole didn’t realize that these days people don’t carry cash. What was I going to do, hand over my credit card?
Fuck that.
From then on my theory on the homeless wasn’t exactly positive. It was tainted by that one douchebag. The man stood from his place on the ground and nodded to Mase. “Yeah, but they don’t let guys like me inside there.”
He had a very good point. He smelled so bad I moved to the other side of Mase so I wasn’t downwind of him. I’m not entirely sure that one bath was going to fix this dude’s problems.
“What’s your name?”
“Rosco.” He gave me a look and then back to Mase, probably wondering what the fuck was going on. Not too often guys like us start asking a man like him questions.
Having no idea what Mase had planned, I watched with curiosity as to where he was going with this one.
“They don’t ask questions if you’re with us.” Mase pointed to the door. “We got a spare room you can have.”
What was he talking about? We don’t have a spare room.
“We don’t—”
Mase elbowed me when I tried to say something. “Come on, bud.” Mase helped him up. “Let’s get ya inside.”
I had no idea what to make of the situation or what Mase had planned but I went with it knowing he had a plan. Last time he rescued someone he fell in love with her. Let
s hope this wasn’t the case but you can never be too sure these days.
We got the man up to the tenth floor where our rooms were with absolutely no questions asked by the hotel staff.
After we got him up there, we stood outside the door staring at him. “Now what?” I looked at the door him and Ryan shared. You could easily see the confusion on my face. Again, I had to move away from the man because the smell was making me sick. I’m not judging here but I was ready to give him a bar of soap. And a loofah, or at least swipe some hotel soap from the rolling cart in the hall and tell him to head to the nearest hotel restroom and give himself a once over before we went one step further.
Mase smiled and handed Rosco his room keycard. “All yours, bud.” His smile grew and I began to understand what was happening here. He was one upping Ryan. “Order room service if you want and just charge it to the room.”
“Take a shower too. Take all the time you need and just enjoy that hot water.” I wasn’t trying to be rude but good God, he smelled bad.
Mase gave me that look, the one that said shut the fuck up. So I did. For once.
“You’ve got the room to yourself, buddy.”
Naturally, the man went inside all excited to be out of the cold I’m sure, stripping away his trench coat as he walked through the room.
I waited in the hall for Mase to grab his bag in there and came out. “I’m rooming with you and Remy.”
Shaking my head, laughter fell from my lips as we walked toward my room next door. “How exactly is that gonna work?” I gestured to Rosco and his new pad as I stuck the keycard in the door.
“Well,” Mase followed me, “when Ryan comes back, he’ll be met with Rosco in there.”
Mase apparently thought this was the funniest prank he’d ever done. I had to admit, it was funny.
“You know, Ryan’s going to fuck you up when he finds out it was you. What if he steals something in there?”
